千葉周作先生の紹介
北辰一刀流開祖・千葉周作成政は1793年、奥州陸前の気仙村（現在は岩手県陸前高田市）で生まれる。16歳の頃、父と共に松戸に移り、小野派一刀流中西派に入門し剣術の腕を磨く。後にその組太刀の改良を考え独立、家流である北辰流と自らが修業した一刀流を併せ、ここに「北辰一刀流」が誕生した。1822年、日本橋品川町に「玄武館」を構え、後の1825年、神田お玉ヶ池に道場を移転した。門弟その数3,600余人、当時の剣術最大の流派となった。その門下からは、坂本龍馬、清河八郎、山岡鉄舟など幕末の著名・重要人物が多く輩出された。周作はこの剣術を武士に限らず、町人や商人達に対しても教授した。合理的稽古法を用い、組太刀と竹刀剣術を合せて稽古することにより、他の道場で10年かかる修業を5年で仕上げたのであった。1855年12月満61歳で永眠。その後北辰一刀流は明治以降も多くの子弟に受け継がれ、現代剣道の発展に大いなる影響を与えた。

北辰一刀流創始人 千葉周作成政 於1793年出生於奧州陸前氣仙村（現岩手縣陸前高田市）。16歲時，隨父親遷居松戶，師從小野派一刀流中西派磨練劍術。後來，為了精進並改良自己的組太刀，將家傳的北辰流與一刀流結合，此時創立了「北辰一刀流」。 1822年，他在日本橋品川町開設「玄武館」道場，並於1825年遷至神田玉池。玄武館當時擁有超過3,600名弟子，成為規模最大的劍術流派。幕末時期，許多傑出的門下生包括坂本龍馬、清河八郎、山岡鉄舟等人才輩出。千葉周作不僅向武士，也向城鎮居民和商人傳授劍術。他採用精簡和合理的訓練方式，結合組太刀和竹刀劍術，在五年內完成了在其他道場需要十年才能完成的訓練。他於1855年12月去世，享年61歲。北辰一刀流自明治時代以來傳承至今，對現代劍道的發展產生了深遠的影響。

In 1793, the founder of the Hokushin Itto-ryu, Chiba Shusaku was born in Kesen Village in Oshu Rikuzen. At the age of 16, he was trained in Ono-ha Itto-ryu swordsmanship under Asari Matashichiro, and he realized that the technique he learned was incomplete. Therefore he combined his family’s swordsmanship style called Hokushin-ryu with the Itto-ryu swordsmanship, and created Hokushin Itto-ryu. In 1822, he returned to Edo at the age of 28. He set up the Genbukan dojo in Shinagawa-cho, Nihonbashi. In 1825, a new dojo with magnificent gables was built in Kanda Otamagaike. Hokushin Itto-ryu was at its height during the end of Edo period with more than 3,600 disciples, while retaining a steady stream of newcomers. He has many prominent disciples, such as Sakamoto Ryoma, Kiyokawa Hachiro, and Yamaoka Tesshu,etc. Chiba Shusaku taught not only samurai but also townspeople and merchants. Excellent training methods which combined the principles of kumitachi and the shinai training enabled students to complete their training in 5 years and received licenses, compared to other dojos required 10 years. Sensei Shusaku passed away at the age of 61 on December 13, 1855. Hokushin Ittō-ryū has been passed down to many students from the Meiji period to the present day and had a great influence on the development of modern kendo.
本部道場紹介
1945年の終戦を機に、五世宗家・小西重治郎成之が東京杉並区善福寺にて野天道場を開き、少年達に剣道の指導を始めました。その後、1950年に現在の北辰一刀流玄武館が建てられました。その後70年以上にわたり、伝統を守りながら北辰一刀流の指導と普及を続けています。

「北辰一刀流玄武舘」香港同好会，主要為推廣創立200年古流劍術流派北辰一刀流。一同切磋並琢磨劍術，學習傳統與實用並重的日本劍技。追求「活人劍」的精神，不為殺戮而用劍，從學習劍術、提升心智，把理念活用於現代生活之中。 本會為香港唯一得到日本本部道場「玄武館」認可招生推廣。

Hokushin Itto-ryu Genbukan HK Club is dedicated to promoting the traditional Japanese kenjutsu Hokushin Itto-ryu which has a history of 200 years. Join us to practise swordsmanship, to hone your skills, to learn the traditional and practical Japanese kenjutsu. We pursue the spirit of Katsujinken, which emphasize the use of swordsmanship to bring out the best in a person , instead of solely for violence. Through the study of swordsmanship, we elevate our minds and apply its principles to daily life. Our club is the only association in Hong Kong that is recognized by the Hokushin Itto-ryu Genbukan Hombu Dojo (Headquarters) in Japan for enrollment and promotion.
